Turkish riot police entered the headquarters of the main opposition CHP in Ankara on Sunday, to enforce a controversial court ruling that removed party leader Ozgur Ozel and reinstated former chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
Following the police intervention, Ozel led tens of thousands of supporters on a march from CHP headquarters to the Turkish parliament, vowing to continue resisting what the party has described as a “judicial coup”.
“I will continue to govern the CHP from my office in the parliament,” Ozel told the crowd.
