SUPPORTERS of top all-weather specialist TALENTS AMBITION may finally have their prayers answered when the striking grey galloper lines up in the Beas River Handicap (1.05pm) over the extended mile.
The talented five-year-old has yet to taste success in nine runs this season, despite a strong course and distance record of three wins and six places from just a dozen runs on the all-weather surface.
His lack of success has been mainly down to most of his contests being run at an early crawl, followed by a sprint to the line, which is totally against his renowned strong-finishing style.
This time, with the likes of Run Run Smart, Telecom Fighters, Sword Point and bottom-weight Pray For Justice vying for the lead, there is likely to be a genuine quick pace from the off which can play into the hands of Mark Newnham’s strong finisher, and he can finally capitalise in the closing stages.
In the same race, keep an eye on joint bottom-weight KING DANCE.

He represents the Francis Lui stable and makes plenty of appeal from his present handicap mark.
The four-year-old has a progressive profile, with two wins already this season including one on the dirt surface.
His breeding suggests that being a son of smart American dirt specialist Nyquist the all-weather surface should be his forte, with the step up in distance to an extended mile also a major plus.
Following a below-par no show behind Aeroinvincible on turf last month, the four-year-old was subsequently back to his best with a visually impressive trial recently and the booking of jockey Richard Kingscote, who has good record on dirt, further enhances his prospects.
