Startup Coalition and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) has launched Pitch in Whitehall, a new competition bringing startup innovation into the heart of government.

Pitch in Whitehall is the latest in the Startup Coalition’s Pitch in Parliament series, with past winners including UK startups Adora Women’s Health and GutSee Health.

Participating startups will pitch live on stage to venture capital and public sector tech leaders and win a short government contract to deliver a proof of concept, subject to procurement compliance legislation.

The competition’s theme is ‘green compute’ and solutions are being sought from UK startups across three pillars – hardware and infrastructure innovation, green operations and carbon attribution, and financial operations and unit economics.

Interested companies have until July 24 to submit an application. Submissions require a five-page technical submission and a two-minute video demonstrating how they solve the challenge pillars. The live pitch will take place on September 7.

“We are excited to partner with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology to find the best British solutions to help the government achieve its AI ambitions,” says Dom Hallas, CEO of Startup Coalition.

“Britain has some of the best founders in the world and we will all benefit from their technology transforming public services. Pitch in Whitehall will be a great showcase of what is possible.”
