Many of those attempting to reach Bosnian government-held territory were killed along the way, while survivors emerged near the village of Nezuk after spending days or even weeks crossing forests and avoiding ambushes.

Extensive logistical support has been arranged for participants during their three-day trek.

“Everything is in place. The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina are providing tents, medical assistance will be available along the entire route throughout all three days, and refreshments, energy supplements and fruit will be distributed throughout the march. Dinner will be served at around 6 p.m. at each overnight stop in Liplje, Mravinjci and Potocari,” said Suljo Cakanovic, head of the Peace March organising committee, Klix.ba reported.
