Rama’s Arguments with RSF Draw Attention From Albanian Media’s Problems

Albania’s Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has engaged in heated exchanges with the international media watchdog Reporters Without Borders, RSF, in recent weeks following publication of its 2026 report on media freedom.

On the social media platform X, Rama has disputed the index’s findings concerning pluralism – or its absence – in Albania’s media landscape.

Citing an artificial intelligence-based media monitoring platform, Rama argued that opposition voices have received significantly more media coverage than representatives of the government.
