Hundreds joined marches in Sarajevo and Skopje, emphasising the ongoing struggles faced by LGBTQ+ communities despite steadily growing acceptance.

LGBTQ+ activists and their supporters also took to the streets of North Macedonia’s capital for the eighth annual Skopje Pride on Saturday under the slogan “Let Everyone Know” – a message against silence, social exclusion and people being forced to hide who they really are.
“We refuse to accept that our lives are only allowed to exist behind closed doors,” organisers said in statement ahead of the event.
